Originally released as a CD in 2001, now available as a vinyl LP for the first time! And what a presentation: gatefold cover with the lyrics, lots of photos and the record itself in clear w/black and white splatter!
The band “Der Dicke Polizist” (also known as DDP) was founded in Koblenz in 1993 and is an established name in the punk scene. Their songs deal critically with social issues. After initial successes with demo tapes such as “Keine Liebe, keine Gerechtigkeit” (1994) and Wir habens satt (1997), the band released their first album “Es geschah am hellixten Tag” in 1998. The following years brought several changes in the band line-up and a renaming to “DDP” in 2005, as the original name was often misunderstood as too humorous for their serious themes. They also changed labels several times. After the albums “DDP”, “Alexithymie” (Impact Records), the band switched to the band's own Dritte Wahl label. After a short break, the band returned to their old name in 2014 and released the EP “Naive Automaten” in 2015. The band has been on hiatus since 2017.
