Thirty years after creating their powerful blend of punk, rock and soul, The BellRays are releasing their new album Heavy Steady Go! on vinyl and CD on the Sweet Gee Music label. Formed in 1990 in Riverside, California, the band has since evolved their unique sound, which is characterized by the authenticity of their roots. “We have created a band and music based on what we love,” explain Lisa Kekaula and Robert Vennum, the band's founders. Their new longplayer strictly follows the formula of emotion + energy = excitement, but adds new facets and brings fresh impulses to the familiar sound. Heavy Steady Go! was recorded over two years in two cities and with two rhythmic line-ups, including Mark Cisneros and Ron Miller from Kid Congo & The Pink Monkey Birds and the return of drummer Craig Waters. The recordings were produced by Lisa and Robert themselves and reflect the band's musical diversity, drawing inspiration from icons such as Tom Petty, Bon Scott and Fleetwood Mac. It's a powerful celebration of energy and emotion that sets the stage for a new era for the band.
