Description
COMPLETE LOSS are back again! Since their demo 2018 at SFR Hardcore it was quiet around the band from the deepest west of Germany. But the wait has been worth it. COMPLETE LOSS cuts a swath where Castillo, Repeat Offenders, Rixe, Beton Arme and The Chisel have already set the field on fire. Clear line, played hard, uncompromising, melodic, oldschool and at the same time at the pulse of time. Here people make music who know exactly how punk has to work and who don't want the next boring shit album without heart and backbone - and who obviously have an excellent taste in music.
Musically COMPLETE LOSS stands next to No Time and Alternate Action, Savageheads and Blitz. Unlike Demo, COMPLETE LOSS' new disc is peppered with more singalongs without becoming pleasing. The recipe is a simple but determined Telecaster sound, driving drums that cover as much midtempo as one-two, and vocals reminiscent of old Slapshot and Sick Of It All. With this recipe the band makes the record a straight Oi! disc of the harder kind.
Also with the artwork people have thought here. The cover was designed by Keith Caves, who is also responsible for the artwork of NO TIME from Pittsburg. On COMPLETE LOSS he rubs all the bad things of the world in our faces: nuclear war, despair, jail and barbed wire. The back cover shows the band in front of their rehearsal room, as they liked to do on German labels. What's great is that the cover is made of high quality cardboard, so it's clear that it will stay relevant for a while. If that's not 80s enough for you, you'll be pleased with the red inlay in fanzine snippet look. And if that's still not enough, there's also a poster that once again makes it clear who makes our lives hell and why punk damn well keeps its place!
