Volcom was founded in 1991 by two avid board sports enthusiasts, Richard Woolcott and Tucker Hall. Both were snowed in after a holiday together, one had already been terminated, the other was not able to attend work and therefor the idea of t?he now so big Volcom Stone was born. They finally created a fashion brand that combines everything and thus broke up the core idea: not skaters versus snowboarders versus surfers, but connecting the scenes - similar to Brixton with his crossover idea. No room to hate each other. The first Volcom shirts came out in the mid-90s when they were being promoted en masse across California and suddenly everyone wanted to wear Volcom. In 1995 they sponsored their first pro skater and founded their own record label. They are now sponsors of over 50 professional athletes from the fields of surfing, skating and snowboarding - ever since they have sponsored great and good people and have always supported the cross-skateboarding scene. You can now get a distinctive range of products in all colors from the Californians. The first shop was opened in 2003. From the beginning, Volcom has been "True To This" and strives to keep the oceans clean, focuses on sustainability in production and processing and is aware of its responsibility as a company, so in recent years it has increasingly relied on CSR - Corporate Social Responsibility.
