Description
Reissue of the 2005 Amen 81 LP, released in only one pressing on the band's own "3ps Schallplatten" label and already sold out for many years.
The third real Amen 81 album (alongside a 10", lots of 7 "s, split releases and sampler contributions) was the most controversial and, above all, the hardest: away from the classic crust/political punk of the early years and towards the heroes of good old US hardcore. Youth of Today and Minor Threat are the godfathers, straight edge bands like Bane or Uniform Choice are not far away either and of course Amen 81 also repeatedly fall back on their well-known influences like Disrupt or Extreme Noise Terror.
All of this results in their very own angry cocktail of rough hardcore punk and ultra-angsty political lyrics that could only have been created at that time. 14 offensive songs bursting with power, anger, roughness and energy and playing in a league of their own.
"The Hitpit" comes with a thick cover, black inner sleeves, 28-page XL booklet, download code and, in complete contradiction to the music, cute C-64 pixel artwork. (twistedchords)
