The songs by Planlos are classics of GDR punk rock. Their lyrics were politically explicit and had an oppressive poetry. Hardly any other band epitomised the charisma of East Berlin punk to such an extent. The band performed exclusively illegally. In 1983, Planlos played a highly conspiratorial concert with Die Toten Hosen, which resulted in a band friendship that continues to this day. Constant Stasi surveillance and conscription to the NVA led to the end of Planlos, a fixed item on the GDR state's defence programme when the smashing of punk bands was on the agenda. After 40 years, Planlos is now being honoured with a first album of original recordings including new recordings!
