Digging punk in the Wild East! "I wanna go over the Berlin Wall", sang Johnny Rotten in the Sex Pistols hit "Holidays in the Sun". When the song came out, punk had long since seeped through the Iron Curtain; almost at the same time, the Slovenian band Pankrti marked punk's breakthrough in the socialist public sphere with their first show. In the same year, the conceptual art band Spions formed in Hungary and Walek Dzedzej Pank Bend and KSU in Poland.
