When Fettes Brot formed in 1993, nobody could have guessed where the journey of Dokter Renz, König Boris and Björn Beton would take them. Just two years later, their single “Nordisch by Nature” made them one of the most successful German-language hip-hop acts. This was followed by nine studio albums, 46 singles and 43 music videos, which were played in heavy rotation on VIVA and MTV, on the radio and at every flat-sharing party. After a celebrated farewell tour in 2023, “the mother of all party bands” disbanded after 30 years. But now comfort is at hand for the grieving fans, because Dokter Renz, King Boris and Björn Beton are not only excellent musicians and rappers, but also comic fans. And so, just in time for the 30th anniversary of their first album “Auf einem Auge blöd” in April 2025, a comic will be published that adds a new facet to the work of Fettes Brot. Ten illustrators and hip-hop aficionados have taken songs from Fettes Brot's entire career and translated them into comic images. In addition to hits such as “Schwule Mädchen”, “An Tagen wie diesen” and “Jein”, fan favorites such as “Silberfische in meinem Bett” and “Falsche Entscheidung” can also be found in the Fettes Brot song comic “Schwule Mädchen Sondereinheit”.
