Two months prior to the release of their classic “Death Metal” album in August 1997, the undisputed Kings of Swedish Death Metal DISMEMBER launched the “Misanthropic” CD-EP as advance to their upcoming album.
Dismember - Misanthropic (1997) is an EP that captures the essence of Swedish death metal in five fast and aggressive songs. “Misanthropic” stands out for its brutality, with fierce riffs and Matti Kärki’s hate-filled vocals. Despite the intensity, Dismember manages to incorporate melody without losing its strength, as heard in “Pagan Saviour” and “Shadowlands.” The EP blends technique and violence, serving as a perfect example of the band’s relentless style.
27 years later, the “Misanthropic” EP gets a proper recognition being released for the first time as a single 12” vinyl including insert with lyrics.
It has been pressed on a limited edition of 500 copies, half on regular black wax half on special electric blue coloured vinyl.
