Heaven Is A 4-Letter-Word - on vinyl for the first time in 33 years!
‘At 2012 A.D.’, the third album by the band “Depp Jones”, was originally released in 1992 on Dragnet (Sony) and is also the band's last release. It contains 15 songs, including the Bad Brains cover ‘I’. Last Exit Music is now releasing a vinyl edition of the album for the first time ever on 31 January 2025, strictly limited to 500 copies in blue and black marbled vinyl in a gatefold sleeve. Available for pre-order now - when it's gone, it's gone.
The story of ‘Depp Jones’ begins in 1989 as a new formation from the predecessor formation ‘S.U.M.P.’ with Bela B, Rodrigo González, Michael Beckmann and Die Ärzte producer Uwe Hoffmann. During the recording of their first album, ‘Return to Caramba!’, guitarist Axel Ludwig left the band and Rodrigo González took over the role of sole guitarist, with Olaf M. Kobold joining as drummer. With this line-up, ‘Depp Jones’ not only released their debut album, but also the EP ‘Welcome to Hell’. In 1992, Michael Beckmann left the band and was replaced by Peter Sonntag. This new line-up produced their third and final album, ‘At 2012 A.D.’, which is now being released on vinyl for the first time.
