To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the rock`n`roll kings of AC/DC, Columbia Records/Legacy Recordings are releasing the band`s back catalog in truly royal style: as a golden, limited vinyl edition. Each LP in this special edition comes with a print (30cm*30 cm) featuring brand new AC/DC anniversary artwork.
The AC/DC Power Up Tour 2024 thrilled more than 1.3 million visitors throughout Europe. The two shows at London's Wembley Stadium alone were attended by 160,000 people.
The fan get-togethers known as "Dive Bars" in Gelsenkirchen, Seville, Munich and London were also very popular. Thousands of the band's fans met like-minded people there, got AC/DC tattoos or secured exclusive merch. The last Dive Bar in Paris will open its doors on August 12 and 13.
In the USA, the RIAA (American Music Industry Association) announced that AC/DC had now sold more than 90 million albums in the USA. Another milestone was reached in the UK, where the number of AC/DC streams exceeded the billion mark.
On Black Ice from 2008, the band worked with producer Brendan O'Brien for the first time - a successful teamwork that was continued on 'Rock or Bust' (2014) and 'Power Up' (2020). Black Ice became the band's first number one album in the UK after 'Back in Black'. The LP also topped the charts in the USA, something the band had last achieved there with 'For Those About To Rock'.
