Primal Rite - dirge of escapism

PRIMAL RITE is the shot in the arm the hardcore and metal scenes need. The band features members from many underrated San Francisco bands like Scalped, Yadokai and Face The Rail and members staying active in current bands Profile and Condition.

With 7"s already on Revelation Records, Grave Mistake Records (Red Death, Night Birds, Coke Bust) and Warthog Speak Records (Gag, Fit For Abuse, Fatigue) plus a cassette on Pop Wig Records (Trapped Under Ice, Firewalker, Turnstile) the band is unleashing their debut LP with Revelation this January.

Thanks to tours with Power Trip, Destruction Unit, a weekend with Trapped Under Ice and countless California shows under their belts as well as had high profile slots on some of North America's biggest hardcore festivals like Sound and Fury in LA and Not Dead Yet in Toronto with an appearance at Damaged City in Washington, DC slated for spring 2018 the band has been working hard making their name known coast to coast.

Stereogum picked the band as one of their top 40 best new bands of 2017. Vocalist Lucy Xavier's lyrics tackle oftneglected yet important topics of personal politics dealing with mental health and identity.

There are no tough guy poses, no tired stabbed-in-the-back hardcore cliches. Guitars scream and solo, mixing the speed and chaos of of Japanese hardcore, the crunch of Cleveland hardcore, the riffing and solos of thrash metal, and the pure crushing power of the Floridian death metal scene of the '90s.
