Description

One of the longest serving (since 1980) and most successful punk bands (over three million albums sold) is back in 2013 with their 16th studio album: Bad Religion release Joe Barresi (Queens Of The Stone Age, Tool) produced "True North" on their parent label Epitaph Records. In a world still ruled by stupidity, oppression and inequality, the defiant cry for humanism is more important than ever. On "True North" the band refines their Californian punk sound, which they brought into the world in the early 80s. "We remembered our original mission: short, precise bursts of melody and thought," says co-songwriter and guitarist Brett Gurewitz. The result: punk reduced to its essence, 16 songs in 35 minutes. And so the first single release is also a driving anthem with a brief but clear statement: "F*ck You". "If any band has a song with that title," says singer Greg Graffin, "then it's us." Probably the band's most emotionally appealing album.
