Description

Exactly 30 years ago - on August 21, 1990 - the thrash and speed metal icons Anthrax released their 5th album "Persistence of Time". Anthrax (founded 1981) are icons in the worldwide metal scene with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer as 'Big Four' for years. They are regarded as co-founders and promoters of the thrash metal subgenre.

The work, which has been awarded gold in the USA for 500,000 records sold, is now being released on Megaforce Records as an extensive 2-CD set including a behind-the-scenes tour footage DVD. The vinyl version contains 4 LPs. The artwork reworked for this edition shows the original, but ultimately unused, design. CD1 contains the completely remastered 11 tracks of the original album. The remastering, which was supervised by drummer Charlie Benante, was done by anthrax specialist Paul Logus, who has already mastered the albums "Worship Music", "For all Kings", the EP "Anthems" and the DVDs "Kings Among Scotland" and "Chile on Hell". In addition, CD1 includes a special bonus b-side of "I'm The Man" from 1990, which is more hip-hop than rock oriented, and a live version of "Time", which was recorded in 1991 at the Michigan Palace of Auburn Hills. The last 2 songs on CD1 and all 9 tracks of the 2nd CD are from the 'Charlie's Stash' collection, an unparalleled collection of rehearsals, songwriting sessions, demos and live performances recorded by Benante over the past 40 years.

The DVD contains insights into the everyday life on tour in 'guerilla style', which were created in 1991 during live dates with Iron Maiden.

The LP comes in orange vinyl.
