Ari Hest - twelve mondays-Ob wehmütig oder radiotauglich Twelve Mondays ist ein bemerkenswerter Song- writer-Mix, der sich durch den Ideen- und Variantenreichtum, die leisen Zwischentöne, sowie die umfangreiche musikalische Bandbreite von ARI HEST auszeichnet. ARI HEST ist kein gewöhnlicher Singer/Songwriter. Zumindest geht er die Dinge auf eine andere Weise an. Während die meisten Vertreter seiner Zunft sich in ihrem Heimstudio oft monatelang damit abmühen, ein Hochglanzdemo zu produzieren, um möglichst schnell einen Major-Platten-Vertrag an Land zu ziehen, schlägt ARI HEST genau die entgegengesetzte Richtung ein. ARI HEST hat den begehrten Major-Deal bereits in der Tasche, löst diesen Vertrag aber aus eigenem Antrieb wieder auf. Er möchte die Kontrolle über sein künstlerisches Scha!en selbst in der Hand haben. 2008 startet er sein ambitioniertes und bis dato einzigartiges Projekt "52"". Walter Elf - männer in rot-Die Walter Elf wurde 1983 gegründet und zählte in den späten 1980er und frühen 90er Jahren zu den wichtigsten deutschsprachigen Punkrock-Bands. Nach 19 (!) Jahren Pause, nur unterbrochen von wenigen legendären ,einmaligen Reunionshows", gibt es hier endlich neues Songmaterial zu hören. Neben dem Titeltrack ,Männer in Rot" präsentieren uns die Lauterer ,Der Betze brennt" und ,1991 (Lautern 3, Barcelona 1)", also thematisch ganz dem 1.FC Kaiserslautern gewidmet. Die musikalischen Einflüsse der Band waren und sind vor allem der frühe angelsächsische Punkrock (Stiff Little Fingers, Undertones, Chelsea, The Clash), aber auch die frühen Toten Hosen und US-amerikanische Bands wie All oder Big Drill Car. Die Walter Elf haben ihr Leben auch in den vergangenen 19 Jahren intensiv gelebt und zu der bekannten heiter-ausgelassenen Note gesellen sich jetzt auch nachdenkliche und überlegte Töne. -

Avenue Six Left - faces-Im Herbst 2007 gegründet, nahmen Avenue Six Left schon im März des darauffolgenden Jahres ihre erste Demo-CD, die mittlerweile komplett ausverkauft ist, auf. Innerhalb kürzester Zeit standen A6L als Vorband von Szenegrößen wie War From A Harlots Mouth, Maroon, Born From Pain und Texas In July auf dem Programm und konnten so ihre intensive und energiegeladene Live-Show auch überregional an den Mann bringen. Auch wenn sich die 6 Jungs im Alter von 18 bis 23 Jahren beim Metal und Hardcore bedienen, ist ihr Musikmix weit entfernt von den Standard Metalcore Bands der Szene. Technische Elemente und Synthesizer sind in den Songs genauso vertreten wie die allseits beliebten Moshs und Breaks. Für den nötigen Tiefgang sorgen, neben den komplexen aber ,catchigen" Riffs der Melodiefraktion, die vielseitigen Vocals von zwei Sängern. Die von keinem geringeren als Alexander Dietz (Heaven Shall Burn) gemasterte Debut CD Faces, wird die stetig wachsende Fanbase direkt ins Mark treffen. In Deadly Sounds Records, einem neuen Unterlabel des renommierten Dead Serious Records (Cataract, Teamkiller, Sick Of It All usw.), konnten die Jungs einen vielversprechenden Deal einheimsen. Im Winter 2010 wird dort die erste Full-Length CD der Sechs erscheinen. Bis dahin wollen Avenue Six Left auf möglichst vielen Shows nur eines unter Beweis stellen: FACE THE BEAST! -

Acacia Strain - wormwood-The mammoth fourth album from Massachusetts THE ACACIA STRAIN is easily their most dynamic, focused and crushing to date. And with a huge European tour to coincide with Terror and Every Time I Die as well as a special one-off appearance as co-headliner with Gallows at this years Ghostfest in Leeds to set it up beforehand, Wormwood looks set to be their biggest album to date. It can be said some bands truly embody a certain spirit or emotion. Without a doubt, Massachusetts long running chuggernauts, THE ACACIA STRAIN, truly embody anger. And that shows more than ever on their new full-length, Wormwood. The bands sound and vibe are more ferocious than ever on this, their fourth full-length for Prosthetic Records and fifth overall. Even the successes of their previous full-length, Continent, which debuted at #2 on Billboards Heatseekers chart in 2008 and their DVD, The Most Known Unknown, which debuted at #10 on Billboards Top Video Sales Chart in early 2009, has not assuaged front man and lyricist Vincent Bennetts turmoil. For Wormwood, the band returned to the scene of the creation of Continent; producer Zeuss Planet Z Studio in Hadley, MA, where hes previously worked with the likes of label-mates All That Remains, Hatebreed, The Red Chord, and more, where he engineered, mixed and mastered the slab of vitriol. This time around, we find guitarist D.L. experimenting with 8-string guitars, adding further depth and low end to the bands already stomach turning low end sound. The band will be appearing on this summers inaugural Cool Tour with As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Between the Buried And Me, Blessthefall, Architects, Cancer Bats and War of Ages in the US before returning to Europe as part of the Hell On Earth tour with Terror and Every Time I Die, as well as co-headlining this years Ghostfest in Leeds with Gallows in June.
